In the Library: cramming, a fantasy book and some shoes

First of all, I'm so sorry that I haven't been updating recently. The only reason I've actually gotten around to this in four days, this will fall very low on my list of priorities due to Nanowrimo.

This edition of In the Library has a somewhat depressing number of book reviews- only one, and not a really amazing one either, just a pretty good one. It'll be divided into a life update, a book review, and another review.

Let's start off with the book review, shall we?

After I finished reading the Lord of the Rings series and was suffering through post series ending blues, I realized I need some AR points for school, so went to the library to look for thick Tolkien-ish fantasy books. I didn't expect to find anything new, and was therefore surprised to find this, considering how good it is. I wouldn't say this is the most absolutely amazing book ever (I think you can tell I've been comparing this to LOTR a bit) but it's a good read. It's traditional fantasy, somewhat predictable, nothing really new but still loads of fun, well written and an overall good read. I wouldn't say I'm Pellinorite or whatever the term for a fangirl of this series is, but it's good, and I'd like to finish the series and reread it.

Next up comes the life update!

Life has been busy and crazy. My grades in Spanish aren't so great, so I've been having to actually *gasp* STUDY for exams! It's odd, as I like Spanish a good deal more than math, but I'm better at math than Spanish. It's rather irritating.

In addition to cramming for stuff in Spanish, I feel rather like I've been cramming for Nanowrimo, trying to slip in last minute world building, polish up this character or whatever. I've been working on the world since August, so there's really very little I can add in at this point. I really just want to jump right in and get into the groove of things.

A picture of my wonderful new pair of taos shoes!
Also, Halloween is coming up! I'm going to be going trick or treating with one of my friends as Hermione Granger and hopefully not crash and burn the following morning.

We all know I'm a fangirl in a diverse variety of areas- people, books, concepts, hobbies. But now I'm a shoe company fangirl! This is really a first!

If any of you guys have high arches, you will LOVE this company. They have incredibly comfy shoes, plenty of options, and aren't charging a ton of money! They are charging a good double digit number, but it's not like the $300 shoe places I've previously attempted to shop at. I've so far bought two pairs- the newest pictured above.

What do you guys think? What have you guys been reading/doing/fangirling about recently?
